FOR GENERATIONS, athletes have experienced how joint flexibility and muscle resilience help prevent injuries.  Today, the industrial world is finally discovering the secret that athletes have known all along: it is very beneficial to warm up and stretch before attempting a physically demanding activity.  Labor intensive industry will benefit by following the athlete's model.

Flexibility is essential if we are to attain an injury-free life.  We need that range of motion in the joints, as well as the proper functioning of the muscles, tendons and ligaments.  You may have seen a gymnast perform amazing feats of agility.  This proficiency comes from years of daily preparative training.  We also in the work place need to prepare ourselves daily for the job at hand.  This is where stretch comes in.

Energy Stretch involves five warm-ups and twelve stretches.  Each position is held for ten to twenty seconds.  We hold the stretch in one position, not bouncing or straining.  Each person maintains his or her own comfort point of mild tension.  An athlete needs to condition regularly to maintain prowess.  So we, too, need to take a few minutes each day to stretch, thus avoiding muscular injuries.  Health experts recommend it ...should we do any less?
